This is the smoothie that I have just about every day. To most people it looks disgusting but when people try it they are often surprised by how delicious it is (“most” might be a stretch). A high powered blender works best, I use a Vitamix.
1 cup water
4-5 kale leaves
2 chard leaves
1 cup frozen broccoli
1 cup frozen spinach
1 handful of cilantro
1 handful of parsley
1 thumb of ginger
1 thumb of turmeric
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp coconut milk
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 scoop protein powder (I’m a big fan of the Hemp Force from Onnit)
1 tbsp spirulina powder
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 avocado if it was a heavy workout day
1 whole lemon juiced
dash of cinnamon
I like to add some fresh berries and bee pollen or cacao nibs after the smoothie is blended.
